   In this article ,the research suggests that physical formats are still more popular than digital downloads.According to the article,there are still a part of young people still persue the cassette tapes.they are purchased simply to own the physical copy.

 

The Philips Company of the Netherlands invented and released the first compact audio-cassette in 1962. The next year in the U.S. sales began of the Norelco Carry-Corder dictation machine that used the new cassette tape. The consumer's demand for blank tape used for personal music-recording was unanticipated by Philips.

  

 The author believed that Despite the popularity of physical formats, online retailers are still getting the greatest sales figures.

  

My opinion

In moderen society,although we can store our music on a PC or in the Cloud, a large proportion of music buyers continue to purchase cassette tapes with MP3 files ,Perhaps it's a reaction to the digital world, but physical formats that we might have thought we react to history are being revived as fans.
