Film review---- Mulholland drive SIMON

“Mulholland drive” is a representative opus for David Lynch. It is a milestone in the history of suspense film, which is complicated and abstruse. The complexity and reconditeness are superior to the other suspense films.

There were many similar kind of films such as Akira Kurosawa’s “Dreams”, Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island”. However, few people know this film, “Mulholland Drive”, with special story, complex characters’ relationships and incredible logic, were better than others.

It tells the story of an aspiring actress named Betty Elms, newly arrived in California, who meets and be friends an amnesiac hiding in an apartment that belongs to Elms’s aunt. The story includes several other seemingly unrelated vignettes that eventually connect in various ways, as well as some surreal scenes and images that relate to the cryptic narrative.

By the way, I could not understand the content at first time, therefore, I watched it 4 times. If someone has wanted to understand this film, he or she would not just watch the screen and listen to the conversation. While, people have to watch more than twice by which the information from the film can be received.

Actually, this film is fill with logicality, every steps of film plot were explained, which is hiding in the film. For example, the killer, restaurant, cars and staff. Everything has purpose of appearing.

This film not only can challenge our logic, but also test our patience. The reason of that is self-evident that this film owned the long and slow epitasis.
